The Barry Mando Project is the latest endeavor of some of the best musicians in Lexington. The trio is comprised of Danny Williams on Electric Baritone Mandolin, Danny Cecil on Acoustic and Electric Bass and Paul Deatherage on Drums and Percussion. Between the three musicians the list of experience reads like a who's who of the best bands around. This project is a very unique instrumentation with a very eclectic range of musical diversity. Danny W. says "In these modern times there is so much diversity out there and we are influenced by it all." This special band is playing mostly original compositions from Danny Williams and some well arranged covers as well. This idea of variety makes this group stand out with elements of Funk, Jazz, Neo-Soul, Rock, Electronica and World music supplies a need for everyone. Duke Ellington said "There are two types of music. Good and Bad."

Danny Cecil- Acoustic Bass
We started playing on Sunday nights in
2000 at the Fishtank as an outlet to just
have some pickin fun. We continued to
play there for seven years and during
that time we became one of the most
popular things to do in town. After the
Fishtank we started playing at Pazzos
and now we aree playin' at
Cosmic Charlie's every Sunday.
Generations succeeds because the musicians, accomplished as they are, convey not simple technical brilliance though thats here in abundance -- but personality, creating an almost conversational approach and conjuring up an emotional depth that may catch the listener unaware at first. Even those count me among them who ordinarily prefer more basic approaches will be hard-pressed to resist this amiably dazzling recordings generous supply of charms.
